Moluh Takes Debut Long-Course Crown in 57.94ER
The two medals for France, gold to Mary-Ambre Moluh, bronze to Pauline Mahieu, lifted the 2026 hosts from 8th to 3rd place on the all-time medals table that date back to 1927 for women.
Mary-Ambre Moluh shaved a further 0.05sec off the European and championship record she established leading the French Mixed medley relay last Tuesday, her new high bar a 57.94 that added European gold to her silver in the dash here in Paris.
The previous fastest winning time had been the 58.18 in which Britain's Kathleen Dawson won the 2020 title on her way to Olympic gold in the inaugural mixed medley relay in delayed Tokyo2020.
Moluh's new pace left her 0.52sec ahead of Marrit Steenbergen, who took silver in 58.46. That brings the Dutch ace's haul in Paris to two gold and four silvers with a day to go.
The bronze raised another great cheer from the French crowd: Pauline Mahieu granted the hosts a second medal in 58.77.
