When James Guy, the most-medalled relay man in a new golden era for British quartets in the pool, signed a property partnership today, the deal was as much about support for the rest of his swimming career as the rest of his life.

Estate-agent giant Knight Frank's sponsorship of the Team GB swimmer and three times Olympic gold medallist, announced today, speaks to Guy's ambition of taking his competitive mindset from the water to dry land working in the property market when his days inn the fast lane are done.

A quick reminder: in Great Britain colours, Guy boasts three golds atop six Olympic relay medals; four golds atop eight World long-course podiums; and seven golds atop nine European long-course podiums over the course of his stellar decade-plus international career.

On signing the Knight Frank partnership, Guy expressed his ambition to transition into the property sector, with a view to leveraging his competitive mindset in a new realm. He noted:

“Being an athlete is about commitment and working at the highest level. In property, you have to do the same, especially when the market or the situation changes.”

Knight Frank’s Head of Residential, Tim Hyatt, commented:

“We are delighted to support James as he continues his remarkable swimming career and explores opportunities within the property industry. His dedication, discipline, and drive align perfectly with our firm’s values. This partnership underscores Knight Frank’s commitment to supporting exceptional talent and fostering excellence both in sports and the property industry.”

The sponsorship is part of Knight Frank’s broader backing for athletes. The firm established a specialist Sports Desk in 2018 to provide property advice tailored to the unique needs of sportspeople.

Hyatt added: “As James prepares for upcoming competitions, Knight Frank looks forward to supporting him both in his athletic endeavours and future career aspirations within the property sector.”
