Beyond standard copyright conditions, our Privacy Policy and other terms set out on our Contact Us, Complaints, Corrections & Contributions page, we ask all who sign up for our services to follow these simple rules of engagement:
- You should not redistribute any SOS+ subscription articles, photographs, graphics, charts or other materials. A single subscription entitles you to read our newsletters and paid-for content. It does not entitle you to distribute or publish our content nor share it with parties who are not contributing to the costs of our project and coverage.
- All subscription types barring one are for either private individuals companies that seek an organisation pass.
- As stated, all materials at SOS and SOS+ are copyrighted and permission must be sought and granted for reproduction of all, any and parts of articles and other materials. Requests should be sent to the Editor: craig.lord@stateofswimming.com
- If you are an organisation or member of an organisation that wishes to share our subscription materials within your organisation, please take out a Group Package. The fee is modest for any organisation but takes into account our first and fair rule on single subscriptions.
- Copying is prohibited. This also applies, in particular, to persons who purchase a licence and then unlawfully share the contents of the newsletter with other persons in their associations, companies and institutions. In such cases, the subscription shall be terminated immediately and no pro rata payments shall be refunded. Private subscriptions can be upgraded to business subscriptions at any time – in such cases, any previous un-returned payments shall be credited.
- The comments section on SOS+ is activated. We reserved the right to deactivate it should it be abused. We are a responsible publisher: we ask for readers to use their proper names if there is no very sound reason not to do so, and insist on moderation of comments. Readers can comment at SOS and through our social media accounts, where relatively rapid moderation is possible. We encourage robust, honest discussion but please refrain from insults, insinuation, personal jibes, conspiracy theories and all manner of things at the deep end of tribalism.
- If there is any reason to believe that the above rules/guidelines are being broken, State of Swimming (SOS and SOS+) reserves the right to cancel accounts.
- The Editor's decision is final
