Dear readers and subscribers, as you know, we were 'off air' for much of yesterday, our platform in forced 'maintenance' mode as a result of a widespread outage that knocked out the platform we live on. The writing never stopped, of course, but this morning, much production work was required to tidy house. Just about there.

Day 6 delivered golds for Hubert Kos in a great record-setting battle with Pieter Coetze over 200m backstroke; Kate Douglass, who won the 200m breaststroke in the second length in a tactical move that left Evgeniia Chikunova playing catch-up all the way to silver; Qin Haiyang's completion of a second 100-200 double double since 2023; and a session in bookended by Marrit Steenbergen's victory in the 100m Freestyle and Great Britain's knockout blow in the 4x200m free, with Matt Richards, James Guy, Jack McMillan and Duncan Scott.

M4x200m Free: Richards, Guy, McMillan & Scott Extend Great Britain’s Golden Era

Kos Cracks Banned Rylov’s Euro Mark With 1:53.19, Coetze Right There With Him
“It was great ... I’ll be honest, I don’t feel great after that. I’ve had a tough schedule here, but I’m really, really happy with how things are going now. And I think [Texas coach Bob Bowman] might be happy with that time.” - Hubert Kos
W100 Free: Steenbergen Keeps The Crown Ahead Of O’Callaghan & Huske
“It feels so crazy. In Doha when I won I said ‘ok’, but to win in this field ... I don’t know what to say. I feel so happy.” - Marrit Steenbergen, the 100m free crown back on the Dutch ace’s head

The men's 200m breaststroke is in the same file as the women's:

Douglass Ends The Debate As Premier Racer In Battle With Chikunova
“I was really excited to race her [Chikunova] tonight. I felt like we were both gonna push each other to be better. And honestly, if I wasn’t racing her, I don’t know if I would have gone a 2:18. I think that really helped push me to be my best.” - Kate Douglass
