Singapore 2025 - Day 4 Heats: The McIntosh & Marchand Show Limbers Up

All gold contenders in solo events through to semis but the mixed medley relay final will not feature France, the USA, Germany and Great Britain at the World Championships in Singapore , the half-way point of the swimming program on the horizon

The men's and women's stars of the Pars 2024 Olympics, Canada's Summer McIntosh (200 'fly) and France's Léon Marchand (200IM) checked into semi-finals at the helm of race on day 4 here at the World Championships here in Singapore.

David Popovici and Kyle Chalmers produced the sole sub 47.5 efforts in the men's 100m freestyle heats.

Notable misses include the teams that did not make the final of the mixed medley relay: FRA, USA, GER and GBR

There were no huge misses in solo events, though Olympic finalist and 2022 Worlds bronze medallist Tom Dean dd not make the 200IM cut and the Tokyo Olympic 200m free champion's Britain teammate Lauren Cox was forced into a swim-off with Mexico's Celia Pulido in the 50m backstroke, from which the British records holder emerged with a 27.64 ticket to the next round at a pace 0.37sec swifter than her first effort.

All but one of this through to semis swam inside 2:10, the lead pace a 2:07.07 from Olympic champion Summer McIntosh. All big contenders sailed through, and they include a` 12-year-old:
