Paris 2024 Day 1 Heats - 400 Free Finals Promise Fireworks

2016 champion Katie Ledecky and 2021 champion Ariarne Titmus take centre lanes for the women's 400 free final, while Lukas Märtens and Guilherme Costa will race in lane 4 and 5 respectively in the men's 400 in search of their first Olympic medals

Two great 400m freestyle battles are in prospect after all contenders for the women's medals eased through to the showdown on 4:02s and all the contenders in the men's final booking their tickets on 3:44-3:45.

American Katie Ledecky, the 2016 champion, and Australian Ariarne Titmus, the 2021 champion, took the centre lanes for the women's final, while Lukas Märtens, of Germany, and Guilherme Costa, of Brazil, in search of their first Olympic medals, will race in lane 4 and 5 respectively.
