After leading for most of the last swimming race of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Hungarian Kristof Rasovszky triumphed over 10km in the Seine this morning, Germany's Oliver Klemet taking silver and the champion's teammate David Bethlehem delivering a 1-3 punch for his country with bronze in a sprint finish with Italy's Domenico Acerenza.
Rasovszkytook the last gold in 1 hour 50mins 52.7sec, the only man who could keep up, Klemet, taking silver 2.1sec adrift.
In the battle for bronze, Bethlehem delivered a second prize for Hungary, 0.6sec ahead of Italy's Acerenza, both just over 16sec behind the champion.
