Just no stopping Léon Marchand! The star of his home Paris 2024 Olympics today the World short-course 200m medley record to his four Games golds and a string of other achievements this year when he thumped Ryan Lochte's 2012 standard into the past with a thumping 1:48.88 victory on day 2 of 3 at the 2024 World Cup finale in Singapore.

Marchand's latest display of aquatic majesty marked the first time any swimmer has got past the pace of Lochte's enduring 200IM records in pools short and long. No other man had got inside 1:50 until today, the Frenchman's previous best a 1:50.30 at the first round of the 2024 tour two weeks ago in Shanghai.
